With Paul in the US for a couple of weeks, I watched this weeks Young Apprentice by myself. Just as well to be honest because Paul is really allergic to lillie's (my favourite by the way) - and this weeks task was flower arranging!
Job one - divide responsibilities. Given the floral bent, I was surprised that one of the teams chose two boys to give the three big money pitches that Sir Alan had set up for them, especially as they said themselves that they didn't feel any passion for flowers - and their lack of empathy and appreciation of the end product translated into results.

They were rejected by two of the three prospects. Had Paul been here he would have been shouting at the TV "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care", so true when selling.
One of the most striking things about the episode was that of the two teams, the one who did the best job of selling, who actually produced the best product and who worked most harmoniously together... lost. When push came to shove - it all came down to one team being willing to try a higher price point. As Sir Alan said (repeatedly) the price could always have been adjusted down after a while if people weren't buying, but let's face it - if you price low... the only way to go is further down. Paul always tells clients "Turnover is Vanity, Profit is Sanity".
What's STOPPING you from charging a higher price? Try putting your prices up... after all, whats the worst that can happen...? and you never know - people might just buy!
